recorderRecorder

Note:
This component turns to be necessary during the configuration of Chart plugin module.

This component keeps track of data from sensors, counters and switches. The store of information can be used later by other components, such as the Chart component, for creating graphics. There is also the possibility to define the criteria for recording data.

COMPONENT’S PROPERTIES

GUI

This component’s sample is made by using Graphic UI gateway.

Please refer to “Gateways / Protocols” chapter in order to get further info.

Data to record: components’ list whose data you want to record;
You can choose components that represent binary states (e.g. Switch) or a numeric value (e.g. Info).
Selection is carried out by dragging components from “My components” area to the list box.

Recording interval [s]: it involves recording a behaviour after every specified time period [seconds];
When the field is left empty or filled with “0” value, Recorder keeps recording any behaviour every second.

Note: text field available for additional information on the component from the admin side.

Reminder before continuing:

  • Download and Install EVE Logic plugin to enable plugins (link);
  • After loading .eve project to the server, wait a couple of minutes for logics activation.

CREATING AND IMPORTING A DATA BACKUP

EXPORT

We provide the user with the possibility to export the Recorder database, to do this we can use two methods:

Using Google Chrome and connecting to this address: ftp: //YOURIPSERVER/http/logic/plugins/Recorder/config/plugindb.sqlite will automatically download the file, remembering to use as username and password when prompted: eveweb

If you do not have Google Chrome or do not want to use it, we recommend using software such as FileZilla that allows you to access the server directory via FTP protocol allowing you to consult the relevant db file, the directory to get to the file is the following: /http/logic/plugins/Recorder/config/plugindb.sqlite in the Host field we will enter the IP address of the server and on Username and Password we will insert eveweb, we press Quickconnect and we could now consult the folders of our server.

IMPORT

If you want to restore the database file in case of problems with a previously saved file, you can import it into the server by following this procedure:

Using software such as FileZilla that allows you to access via FTP protocol to our server by entering the IP address on HOST and entering as Username and Password eveweb we can navigate within the directory containing our interested file: plugindb.sqlite. Once identified, it will be enough to drag the backup file within the window and accept overwriting:

If you have selected an Info component you can view the chart on the recorder webpage only if you set the label “Show in recorder webpage” in the component’s properties.

To view the recorder webpage enter the IP address of the server into the browser’s search bar and then select “Recorder” at bottom of page

You can enter a title in the properties of the selected Info component

 Rember to use this format for the correct view of the drop-down: Demo energy|Energy 1 so you can see a drop-down menu ordered on the web page of the recorder.

Once the component is selected from the drop-down menu, the graph of the recorded data is displayed. The display can be changed in hours, days and months.

Graph data can be downloaded in a .csv format using the Export button.

In this example you can see in action the consultation of a graph representing energy production, as you can see by selecting the interested part you can enlarge and consult in detail the values recorded by the recorder component.

By clicking the Export button you can save the data in .xlsx format.

Verify that your browser does not block pop-ups, if that is the case it will be enough to allow them. The image below uses Google Chrome as a reference:
