One device instead of two
The V100 is server and 10.1″ touch interface in one, and can be powered from the KNX bus auxiliary output — a wall installation with minimal extra wiring and no cabinet space.
The AV that only ever had a remote
Global Caché and IRTrans put infrared-only equipment on the network, which is usually what the existing home cinema turns out to be.

Do I have to remove the existing system?
No. The proprietary devices stay where they are and the supervision brings them into the same interface as KNX, which is what makes a phased renovation possible.
Can a scene span the old system and the new one?
Yes. Scenes and logic act on any integrated device, so one command can drive a KNX circuit and a Shelly relay together.
Is there a way to avoid a cabinet altogether?
In a residential retrofit, yes — the V100 puts the server behind the touch panel. Complex projects with several subsystems still want the X1 Plus on DIN rail.
